OUR STORY

EST. 2026

Authenticity Coffee Company was founded by Bink Bowler and Reuben Thorne in 2026, with the idea of being a cost-effective wholesale coffee supplier.

Bink and Reuben had a previous successful business relationship in the coffee industry. Recently, having stayed in close contact over the years and through a love of coffee, the two got chatting about the challenges that face cafes today. It was this conversation where the seed of Authenticity was planted.

They both agreed that the roasters dominating the market – most owned by multinationals – were a little out of touch with what is going on at the café level. Bink said to Reuben, "Why is there not an affordable wholesale option?”

Other industries have these cost-effective but quality options: Waitomo for the fuel industry, Chemist Warehouse for the pharmaceuticals industry, Asahi for the beer industry, Lexus for the luxury car industry, and so on.

The coffee industry was lacking a coffee supplier that runs a simplified model but still offers fresh and high-quality coffee, just at an affordable price.

They also identified a gap in the market where many cafes don’t want or need to be aligned with a coffee brand because their café itself says it all. So they decided to open up the option being ‘Roasted with Authenticity’ where they just contract roast for the café – the café is free to brand the coffee with their own brand.

With Binks 20 years of experience in the coffee industry, working for leading roasters before embarking on what is now 16 years as a café owner and ‘coffee company leader’, and Reuben's extensive experience in leadership, business, and now coffee… They thought; "Why not us? Why don’t we bring the industry something that is relevant to today’s wholesale coffee market?"

They decided to open a new roastery, reflecting the current market's needs. A company that is offering wholesale coffee at $29.90 per kg, blanket pricing. A company that offers your brand, ‘Roasted with Authenticity’. A company that does not have sales reps who have never owned a café, dropping in to give you advice on how to own a café.

A coffee roastery that is owned by current café owners – so they know what current café owners need.

Cafes need good coffee.

Cafes need cheaper coffee.

And so here we are!
